What is Forest School?
Welcome to Cabin Club Forest School, based just outside of Hatton, Aberdeenshire.
Forest School is an outdoor, child-led learning process that takes place in a woodland and natural environment. At Cabin Club, we follow the Forest School ethos by giving children the freedom to explore, take risks, and learn through hands-on experiences. This approach helps builds confidence, resilience, and a deep connection to nature, all while having fun in the fresh air and providing opportunities to become independant, creative and curious about their surroundings.
Services
Cabin Club Home School/Flexi School
Cabin Club Home School and Flexi School sessions run every Friday and are available on a block-booking basis. Sessions offer children a relaxed, hands-on approach to learning outdoors, using nature, practical activities, creativity and exploration to build confidence, develop new skills and learn at their own pace.
Our Services
Cabin Club Holiday Club
Our Cabin Club Holiday Club is open during school holidays and in-service days, offering children exciting days packed with seasonal activities, nature-based adventures, group games and special outings. Each day brings something new, giving children the chance to explore and make happy holiday memories.
Cabin Club Before/Afterschool CIC
Cabin Club provides school drop-off and collection for children attending Port Erroll School and Hatton (Cruden) School. Our Breakfast Club runs from 7am–9am, and our Afterschool Club runs from 3pm–5:30pm. Children enjoy outdoor play, creative activities and time with friends in a safe, caring environment.
Cabin Club - Wee Saplings 0-6 yrs
Cabin Club (Wee Saplings) provides a caring, child-led environment where children can learn, play and grow through outdoor adventures. We offer funded and private early years places, including split placements with local nurseries and playgroups, with plenty of opportunities to build confidence, independence and friendships.
Cabin Club Facilities Hire
Cabin Club facilities are available to hire, including our outdoor field, sensory room, indoor sandpit and fire pit area. The space is ideal for groups, families and organisations looking for a fun and welcoming place to enjoy. To enquire about hiring the field and facilities, please get in touch.
Cabin Club Stay & Play
Cabin Club Stay & Play sessions run every Wednesday and Friday morning from 9:30am–11:30am. They’re a lovely opportunity for children and their grown-ups to enjoy time together, with outdoor play, crafts, messy activities, our indoor sandpit and sensory room, and plenty of chances to explore, create and make new friends.
Cabin Club Pumpkin Harvest
Join us for our Cabin Club Pumpkin Harvest this October for a fun-filled autumn adventure! Children can choose their own pumpkin, enjoy seasonal activities, take part in our wheelbarrow pumpkin races, decorate their pumpkin and toast marshmallows around the fire pit. It’s a lovely outdoor experience for families, packed with autumn fun and Cabin Club magic.
